Udon is definitely the food of choice. Kagawa-ken people are VERY picky about udon. Bad shops don't stay in business long. Your observations are similar to mine...young people are "bored" there (i know i get bored after a few days) there really isn't much to do there, its not like tokyo or osaka. Yo dude,
